Qui sommes-nous?

Notre association a été fondée à Zürich en 1982. Nous comptons à présent environ 500 membres. Notre but est de faire connaître le Magen David Adom en Israël (MDA) et de récolter des fonds pour assurer la qualité et la continuité des soins.

Qui est le MDA?

Le MDA est l'Organisme National de Soins d'Urgence et est le responsable de la Banque Nationale du Sang en Israël. Le MDA, créé en 1930 comme organisation volontaire à Tel Aviv, est la plus grande organisation bénévole d'Israël. Actuellement les équipes du MDA sont composées de 1.600 employés comprenant des ambulanciers, des "paramédics" et des urgentistes ainsi que plus de 10.000 volontaires! Plus de 900 véhicules de secours de tous types qui opèrent à partir de 125 stations réparties à travers le pays. Deux hélicoptères opérant avec des équipes et du matériel du MDA font fonction de services ambulanciers aériens d'Israël. Depuis 2006, le MDA est membre officiel de la Fédération Internationale de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge. Le MDA s'engage aussi dans des missions internationa-les à l'étranger.

Pourquoi le MDA?

En temps de paix, le MDA ne reçoit pratiquement aucun soutien financier de l’État. Presque un tiers du budget annuel du MDA Israël provient du soutien et des dons des organisations "Amis du MDA" en diaspora, qui permet l'acquisition des véhicules de secours, du matériel médical et de la construction des stations de secours.

Magen David Adom History

1915

1915

1915 -The Jewish physician Dr. Erlanger, drowning in at first time the concepot of "Magen David Adom" in Lucerne, Switzerland and establisheas an associatiotn to help the wounded and Jewish prisoner during World War 1.

1916

1916

1916 - Following the strong desire of the Jewish Legion during World War I to provide medical help given by a Jewish organization Dr. Erlanger' s plan is promoted and the first Jewish rescue organization begins to take shape.

1918 - Establishment of Magen David Adorn USA. The organization deals with medical work in Eretz Israel and tries to establish a local organization to rival the Red Cross, but the attempt to expand its operations to Israel failed.

1918 - The organization thrives in North America and has 70 branches and 25,000 members. Other branches are established in Canada, England and a small branch in Tel Aviv.

1922 - The disintegration of the Magen David Adorn. With the First World War ending the dismantling of the Jewish Legion Magen David Adorn also breaks down.

1930 - The first first-aid course in Israel. The 1929 riots events raise the need for emergency medicine in Israel and in April the first first aid course was opened with Dr. Meshulam Levontin as its instructor.

1930 - Founding of the "Society for fast help during a d1isaster. 11 On June 7, the MDA organization which was caliled at the early days - "Society for fast help during a disaster," was founded in ·Tel Aviv, for the second time.

1930 - First Aid course graduation. In September 1930, 73 paramedics completed the FirstAid course in ·Israel.

1931 - Januar 1931, the first Magen David Adom ambulance in Israel leaves The apartment of Dr. Levontin in the direction of the Mayor of Tel Aviv's home.

1933 - Founding of MDA Haifa branch.

1934 - Founding MDA Jerusalem branch.

- in January 1936, the new home of MDA in Tel Aviv was inaugurated and the first meeting of the MDA associations from across the country was held there.

1940 - September 1940, the Italian air force bombed Tel Aviv. MDA recruited 50 doctors and about 400 nurses and volunteers are trained to treat the population. 932 civilians were provided swift first aid by MDA.

1946 - Magen David Adomactivities concentrate on the civilian population and distinction is made between the military and MDA.

1946 - MDA beg ins to run the first blood bank in central Israel.

1946 - With the end of World War II and the Ii be ration of Europe from the Nazi occupation, MDA support units are sent to various European countries to relieve and treat the surviving Jews in these countries.

1950 -"Magen David Adorn" law was enacted and the Magen David Adorn rescue organization was legally recognized as the Israel's primary emergency and rescue organization, in order for It to be able to join the Red Cross organization. In practice, th is was accomplished only in 2006 due to disagreements about the organization's symbol.

1970 - The MDA headquarter'sbuilding was inaugurated in Israel on Yigal Allon Street in Tel Aviv, near the sports hall and is also the center of the national command and control of the organization.

1987 - The MDA Central Blood Bank was inaugurated at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer after movin from its temporaray location at Shivtei Israel St.

2009 - The national command and control center of the organization was inaugurated at the MDA offices on Yigal Allon Street in Tel Aviv.
